On Tuesday, March 20th, Kelowna RCMP arrested a 26-year-old male suspect in connection to a string of bank robberies from late last year.
The first robbery was reported at a BMO location in West Kelowna on the afternoon of December 9th, where a man allegedly entered the building, approached the bank teller, passed over a note, and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Just days later, on both December 12th and 15th, other robberies with similar circumstances were reported, prompting the RCMP to release photos from security footage.
"Thanks to tips from the public, our investigators were provided with solid leads to a possible identity for the robbery suspect," says Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey. "Our continued investigative efforts led to the suspect being identified and arrested on March 20th without incident."
The suspect has been released on a set of strict conditions, and will appear in court at a later date.
RCMP were unable to disclose the exact amount of cash stolen from the banks.
