RCMP are asking the public for help as they piece together the last hours of a West Kelowna woman, found murdered in a Kelowna orchard last week.
The body of 23-year-old Russia Nicholson was discovered Wednesday morning in an orchard on Cooper Road between Springfield Rd. and Benvoulin Rd.
“Police are now seeking more information about her last days and whether any businesses or homeowners have video of her or her vehicle on October 11 between the hours of 1:00am and 9:00am,” said Corporal Jesse O’Donaghey.
Investigators are focusing on the area of the 2100 block of Cooper Road, where Nicholson's body was found, and the 1300 block of Collison Road, where her white, 4-door 2010 Ford Fusion was discovered.
Her car, which police have released a picture of, was found with damage to the front bumper and driver's side rear passenger window.
O’Donaghey wouldn’t reveal how Nicholson died, but said officers believe she knew her attacker.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Cst. Nicole Shuttleworth of the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crimes Unit at 250-470-6395.
