A group of four friends who saved a man's life were honoured by the RCMP on Wednesday.
Back on August 16, police were called downtown for reports of a man who was causing a disturbance, and had moved underneath the Bennett Bridge.
When police got there, the man jumped into Okanagan Lake and began to swim, but was quickly overpowered by the strong winds and waves.
The group of four jumped in, took a paddle board over to the man, and safely got him back to shore.
RCMP Superintendent Brent Mundle met with the group Wednesday, to present each of them with a certificate that honoured them with a 'Detachment Commander's Commendation for a citizen who has gone above and beyond."
They were also given a Kelowna RCMP challenge coin.
