Police say a man who crashed his boat into the Okanagan Lake shoreline on Sunday afternoon was well prepared.
Just before 5:20, the 35-year-old was thrown overboard into the lake's rough waters, before the boat crashed into the shore near Seclusion Bay Road in Peachland.
Fortunately, he was wearing a life jacket, and had also packed his phone in a waterproof case, allowing him to swim to shore and call 9-1-1.
Investigators say he was the only one on the boat, and was treated at the hospital for slight hypothermia.
The only damage from the accident was to the hull of the 29-foot Maxum cabin cruiser.
