Flood relief projects, brought on by last spring's record high water, continue in the Okanagan's regional parks - and this means several will remain closed.
The Regional District says substantial repair work is needed at both Hardy Falls and Mill Creek regional parks - and both remain closed until that's completed. Two parks in the North Westside - Fintry Access No. 1 and Killiney Beach - are also closed.
And portions of Glen Canyon, Okanagan Centre Safe Harbour and Woodhaven Nature Conservancy parks are also closed due to flood damage.
The RDCO expects to spend about $2 million on flood relief projects this year - and officials say they are still trying to secure approval and money for recovery work through the Disaster Financial Assistance Program.
They say the sheer volume of requests mean approvals are taking longer than expected.
