Investigators say the explosion and fire Wednesday night at a rental home in West Kelowna was being used as a drug lab.
Four tenants inside the Elliott Road residence were injured, leaving one person dead while two others were airlifted to Vancouver for serious burns.
RCMP Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says investigators, with the support of heavy equipment operators, are shifting through the rumble.
""Preliminary findings, coupled with observations made by first responders to the scene, suggest that the rural home was being used in the production of drugs. Although the exact cause of this house fire remains unknown at this time, RCMP strongly believe that this was not the act of an arsonist, and that the public is not at any risk."
The man who died in hospital from his injuries is being identified online through social media, as David Hunt from West Kelowna.
