The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a Kelowna architect to ponder how homes and seniors' homes are designed.
Matt Johnston is the president of Lime Architecture. He spoke to AM 1150 News about how design must change in the future to keep people safe.
"Before we start coming up with solutions we want to see what's actually happening in the local seniors' homes, talk to the people who are in those homes and administering the care for the seniors and just making sure, again, that we don't run into the same issues we've run into with this pandemic."
Johnston says segregation in Canadian senior homes didn't work.
A damning report this week showed long term care residents made up 81% of all reported COVID-19 deaths in Canada.
