On November 1 at 12am Salmon Arm RCMP stopped a speeding vehicle on the Trans Canada Highway near White Lake Rd. The plate was not registered to a vehicle and the driver claimed to have no identification. Further investigation led to the driver being arrested for obstruction. Over 3kgs of suspected illicit drugs was seized from the vehicle. The file remains under further investigation.

On November 1 at 1am a woman called Salmon Arm RCMP reporting her husband had a machete, was off his medication, and was yelling at people that weren’t there. Police attended the residence and located the man laying on the floor complaining of back pain. The man admitted to not sleeping in four days, and believed his childhood friend was in the attic and was after someone. The man was cooperative and BC Ambulance transported him to a local hospital for further assistance.

On November 2 at 4pm Salmon Arm RCMP conducted a traffic stop with a white SUV near Tappen. The driver was found to be prohibited from driving. The vehicle was impounded for the mandatory minimum 7 days, and the driver was issued a future court date to speak to the matter.

On November 14 police stopped a red vehicle being driven by a known prohibited driver. Police stopped the vehicle and confirmed the driver’s ID and their driving prohibition. The driver was found to be prohibited from driving. The vehicle was impounded for the mandatory minimum 7 days, and the driver was issued a future court date to speak to the matter.

On November 3 at 4am a man reported a woman had struck his vehicle with an axe near 3 Ave SE and 5th St SW. Police attended and located the woman hiding behind a dumpster. The man said he noticed the woman digging through a dumpster and asked her to leave. The woman escalated and hit his vehicle with an axe, causing minimal damage to a tail light. The complainant did not wish to pursue charges. The woman was arrested and subsequently released.

On November 6 at 1am Salmon Arm RCMP attended the Petro Canada on Lakeshore Dr for an alarm. On attendance a window was found smashed. Video surveillance seized, with a suspect male observed. The file remains under further investigation.

On November 7 Salmon Arm RCMP located a utility trailer, and a high value bicycle, both at a local informal housing camp. Both items were seized as there were believed to be stolen. Owner may claim with detailed description within 90 days. Please reference Salmon Arm RCMP file 2023-6979.
File 2023-6987
On November 7 a woman reported than her elderly mother, who has dementia, had been scammed out of $9000. The elderly mother found a company called Golden Currency of England, and began sending etransfers to them. Once the daughter realized what was happening a hold was put on the bank account.

On November 11 at 10:30pm Salmon Arm RCMP received information a truck had gone off road in Blind Bay. Police arrived on scene and located the driver who smelled heavily of alcohol and had slurred speech. An approved screening device (breathalyzer) demand was conducted, where the driver blew two FAIL readings. The driver was prohibited from driving for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days. The matter was referred to ICBC.

On November 13 at 9am police were conducting a foot patrol at an informal housing camp. Police were conducting well being checks and searching for possible stolen property. Police spoke with a man who provided different first names, and suddenly couldn’t remember his last name. The man was recognized by police, and discovered to be in breach of his release order conditions after recently being released from Kamloops Regional Corrections Centre. The man was arrested and transported to cells for a bail hearing. The bail hearing resulted in the man being remanded for a future court date.
