The Salvation Army's Sharing Christmas food and toy campaign begins the last 2 weeks of this month.
It's a program that helped over 600 families last year.
Community relations co-ordinator Patty Lou Bryant says local families are especially impacted this winter.
"When you come in, you do a little bit of paperwork, you go down to our cafe, we have a Christmas movie on, we've got toys for kids. When you come back the third week of December, we're just delighted to have people come through. And we truly honour them and keep them dignified and compassionate, and we treat them as guests," she said.
"People that are losing their jobs, that maybe just don't know what's going to be happening in the New Year. Sears in particular, the big outfitters store here on the West Kelowna side. We just want to let them know, come and register."
Families in need can make an appointment for some holiday help by calling the Salvation Army or visiting their website.
