Working with a budget in excess of 260 million dollars, the Central Okanagan School District is ready to open its doors next week to students.
Superintendent Kevin Kaardal is in charge of the 5th largest District in the province, where hiring more teachers since January has been a top priority.
"When we talk about 150 teachers, their have been 370 temporary contract additions since June of this year, so that is significant hiring. Human resources has been doing lots of work to make sure we open with teachers in front of students".
Close to 14 hundred teachers will welcome close to 23 thousand students when the school bell rings next Tuesday.
"We have outstanding educators. We have dedicated support staff. We are all here to help make sure that young people experience a world class education system and the results show that is what we are", Kaardal added.
