A Kelowna man with a significant criminal record is headed to trial once again, this time on charges of assault and uttering threats.
28-year-old Dillan Anthony Butler pleaded not guilty to the charges in court on Monday afternoon.
These charges add to Butler's already-serious criminal history.
Butler previously pleaded guitly to the charge of manslaughter in a 2008 Vancouver stabbing death.
He was sentenced to six years in prison, and was released after four-and-a-half.
Butler moved to Kelowna shortly after being released, but he would find himself in trouble with the law again a few years later; just last year, Butler was arrested in Ontario on charges of fentanyl trafficking.
After Butler pleaded not guilty to his newest charges, the judge said that a trial date would be set on Wednesday, April 11th. The trial is expected to last three hours and include three witnesses.
