Kelowna RCMP have four people in custody after reports of shots fired Wednesday evening near Chute Lake Road in Kettle Valley.
Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says police were called to the neighbourhood just after 5:30 pm - and out of concern for the general public - arrived in force.
They blocked a portion of Chute Lake Road above Jasper Way, and responded with a fleet of police cars, the South East District Emergency Response Team, an armoured vehicle, and the RCMP plane.
O'Donaghey says they're still investigating the source of the shots - and their on-going investigation will focus on the four people arrested. No details were provided about the individuals in custody.
He did say there is no indication yet of any criminality, and that police have not received any reports of injuries.
AM 1150 News reporter Alex Coley says people who live nearby told him they heard between 20 and 30 shots fired.
