Good news for cross country skiers, SilverStar Mountain Resort is opening for the weekend.
According to spokesperson Chantelle Deacon, they will have a few trails open on the upper half of the mountain.
“We have 25 kilometres of trails opening as of now up in the Alpine area, that's more for the advanced experts here, but mother nature has been super good to us and we may be able to open a few more kilometres of trail this weekend as well,” said Deacon.
She said they’ve been super lucky and over the past few days and received quite a bit of snow on the mountain.
“The snow is that nice powder, that really nice white fluffy powder that we over here in the Okanagan and it looks like nothing but snow for the last few days.”
Passes are priced at $27.00 for adults, $22.00 for seniors and $18.00 for youth.
“Initially we were saying just the advanced and expert cross-country skiers should come up but we may change that come Sunday if we are able to open up a few more trails. Because there’s no chair lift open it's quite a long trail up to the top of our mountain,” said Deacon.
The mountain's alpine opening is tentatively scheduled for November 28th.
