The Kelowna Fire Department dispatch center received numerous 911 calls just before 4:00pm on Wednesday, reporting smoke coming from the area of the Rail Trail close to Enterprise Way and Hwy 33.
Upon arrival fire personnel found a Rank 1, slow burning grass fire, approximately 30’ x 50’ on the North/West side of the Rail Trail.
The fire was quickly knocked down by crews. It was contained and the perimeter has been fire guarded.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
2 Engines, 1 Command vehicle and 1 Bush trucks along with 10 personnel responded to the incident.
