The heat and the smoky conditions will continue until at least Thursday in the Okanagan.
Environment Canada's Doug Lundquist says we'll reach into the 30's, which is well above the seasonal high for this time of year.
But, he says a change is in the air for the end of week.
"We do have a bit of reprieve coming for Thursday night into Friday, and perhaps Friday night. A cold front is moving through and could bring us some showers. There will only be a few millimetres of rain at best, maybe a bit more in the mountains, but just enough to cool us off a little bit," he says.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Lundquist says it'll be sunny, and cooler, with daytime highs in the mid 20's.
The normal high for this time of year is 22 - the normal low near 8.
