Okanagan winemaker Andy Gebert is concerned about the wildfire smoke that could taint his grapes.
If contaminants from smoke penetrate the grape, the wine can take on a metallic taste.
Gebert, who owns Kelowna's St. Hubertus and Oak Bay Estate Winery, isn't about to panic.
"When we had the fire here in 2003 and our vineyard got hit really badly, we had literally, think of it as a meat smoker. This looks like nowhere near as bad".
Gebert lost part of his crop during the 2003 Okanagan Mountain Park Fire when a fire swept across the vineyard
"Usually a hot, dry year is a great grape year. Talk to any firefighter and they will tell you a different story about it. Grapes usually love the hot, dry weather and right now they are definetly getting it", Gebert added.
The grape harvest is mid-October.
