It looks like we're stuck with this smoke for the rest of the week.
Environment Canada's Matt MacDonald says there are just too many wildfires burning - and with a stable ridge of high pressure stuck over the interior - the smoke is going nowhere..
"We really don't see any big weather makers on the way that are going to come and mix the boundary layers, so as long as we don't see any wind through the Okanagan valley, and no shift in the overall pattern, we're really going to be stuck with this smoke for quite some days", he says.
MacDonald says if you still want to hit the outdoors - there are places to escape the smoke.
"The worst of the smoke is really confined down in the bottom of the valley, and as you move up in elevation, out of that boundary layer, and into the alpine - surrounding ski areas like Big White or Silver Star for example - the air quality is actually much better in elevation", he says.
MacDonald says there's a slight chance of a change in this pattern next Monday or Tuesday - but nothing in the way of major rainfall.
The Air Quality Health Index is high again Tuesday posing a risk to health.
