With a coat of fresh snow and a sub-zero temperature last (Mon.) night, emergency crews were dealing with multiple accidents out on the roads.
Just before 10 pm, a woman driving south on Benvoulin near Rampone (ram-pony) Road lost control and slid off the road into an open field, about 50 metres away.
In the process, she hit a man in his 30s who was on his bicycle riding in the shoulder on the wrong side of the road.
Even though the cyclist wasn't wearing a helmet, he was taken to hospital with mostly minor injuries, while the driver faces charges and fines.
Then about 15 minutes later, a man in his 60s flipped his SUV over on Dilworth Drive near Glacier Court, blocking a lane of traffic.
Fortunately, the man was able to walk away from the crash.
Police say snowy and slippery roads led to both crashes.
