In getting ready for the long weekend, crews have been removing some sandbag barriers and bladder dams from area parks and beaches - but for the most part - Okanagan Lake is still too high to remove them all.
In Kelowna - city staff say most of the park beaches will remain closed through the weekend including City Park and Waterfront Park - however - Sarsons Beach and Boyce-Gyro are open.
In West Kelowna - CNR Wharf is open, also Marina Park and Willow Beach - but keep in mind all boat launches are still closed.
and in Peachland - crews will be working to remove the bladder dam and some of the sandbags on the waterfront on Beach Avenue.
Okanagan Lake dropped another 1.3 centimetres from Tuesday but is still 58.7 centimetres above full pool, so most flood protections are expected to stay in place.
