The weather is ready to take a turn for the worst in the Central Okanagan.
Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for the region including Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton.
A developing cold front will stall over the Southern BC Interior, late Thursday, delivering rain and the threat of thunderstorms - the system is not expected to move on until Friday.
The storms, combined with spring snow melt, will lead to rising river levels and may increase the risk of flooding.
Dave Campbell, at the BC River Forecast Centre, says streams like Mission Creek could see increased flows heading into the weekend.
