The 2017 Liberal Summer Caucus meeting will be held in Kelowna September 5th, 6th and 7th.
In a news release, meeting chair Francis Scarpaleggia says MP's will discuss the party's economic agenda to further grow the middle class and create more opportunities for Canadians to succeed - adding the Okanagan has done a great job diversifying its economy. He says the Liberal caucus is looking forward to learning more about the region’s success in these areas by speaking with local community members.
Scarpaleggia says it's also a chance for MP's to show support for residents and first responders in the BC interior who have been battling ongoing devastating wildfires.
The Liberal caucus is made up of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, and 183 other MPs, including Kelowna-Lake Country MP Stephen Fuhr.
