A Kelowna judge has found a Summerland man guilty of sexually molesting a child in 2014 and 2015.
56-year-old Alfred Friesen was convicted of two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual interference of a person under 16 and two counts of invitation to sexual touching of a person under 16 in Kelowna Supreme Court on Wednesday.
The assaults happened in his home while the underage victim, who is protected under a publication pan, was visiting.
In both incidents Friesen invited the victim into his bedroom where he undressed himself and asked the victim to undress, before initiating sexual acts.
Freisen denied ever sexual assaulting the victim, but Justice Allan Betton found Friesen not credible and the victim’s testimony credible.
Betton also believed the victim’s parents, who testified that Friesen said “It was natural, I haven’t done anything wrong” when they confronted him on the allegations.
Freisen will be sentenced after a pre-sentence report is prepared for June.
