69-year-old Tejwant Danjou has been formally charged with murder after a Lower Mainland woman was found dead in a West Kelowna hotel Sunday night.
Police were first called to the hotel after learning that a woman was in need of assistance. They arrived to find her dead, and Danjou was arrested nearby.
He remains in police custody at this time, and will appear in a Kelowna courtroom on Wednesday afternoon.
The investigation has been handed over to the Southeast District Major Crimes Unit, who have not made any further comments on the case, although police believe that Danjou and the victim knew each other prior to the incident.
