A 33-year-old woman from West Kelowna is being accused of starting a fire this morning.
It happened at a house on Webber Road, north of Lower Glenrosa Road in West Kelowna, just after 10 am.
Neighbours told police they saw the woman lighting a basket of clothes on fire outside the house, along with other pieces of property.
She was then followed as she left the property, and eventually tracked down and arrested.
West Kelowna Fire Rescue responded to the scene with 18 firefighters, who extinguished the flames that were climbing up the back of the house into the attic.
Fortunately nobody was inside at the time, though the damage is estimated at more than $100,000 worth.
The RCMP are still holding the suspected arsonist, and are planning to press charges.
