Lake Country RCMP would like to encourage the general public to remain vigilant, after a pair of complaints were received by police involving the suspicious actions of an unknown motorist.
In the past 24 hours, RCMP in Lake Country have received two independent reports of suspicious circumstances involving the alleged actions of an older adult male who had reportedly offered a ride to young females in the Lake Country area. “In both cases, the unknown male motorist drove away, after the teens did the right thing and blatantly turned down the man’s offer, and then reported the encounter to the RCMP,” states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
These incidents occurred between the hours of 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., in the Bond Road and Ponderosa Drive neighbourhoods. The unknown adult male driver is described as being in his late 40’s, with greying blonde hair, seen driving an older model blue four door sedan.
The Lake Country RCMP are taking each report seriously as we continue to investigate. We would encourage anyone with information at all to come forward and speak with police.
“We would like to remind parents to continue to have those discussions with their children about suspicious activities and stranger danger and to report any incidents immediately,” states Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey of the Kelowna RCMP.
