Kelowna RCMP allege a stolen car was used to break into Premier Jewellery and Loan on Bredin Road early Monday morning.
Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says just after 5:00 am, police responded to a commercial alarm and discovered the business' store front smashed by a car.
"The suspect vehicle was located abandoned a short distance from the scene by police and the black Saturn has been seized by investigators to be examined for any forensic evidence," he says.
O'Dobaghey says the suspect is described as a Caucasian male, believed to be in his mid-20's, seen wearing a grey hooded sweater, a brown leather jacket, black pants and a black toque with red writing.
O'Donaghey says two x-ray machines used in determining karat weight of gold, a Thermo Scientific Niton DXL x-ray machine and an Olympus Gold Xpert x-ray machine, each valued at $30,000, were among the items taken by the thief.
The investigation continues.
