The woman accused of threatening Premier Christy Clark and Kelowna-Mission MLA Steve Thomson had her first court appearance Friday afternoon.
Pavla Janeckova did not actually appear in court, but her lawyer Wade Jenson did on her behalf.
Special prosecutor Kris Pecket told Justice Cartwright that he would send the particulars of the case to Jenson in “short order” and the next court appearance on the matter was scheduled for July 24.
Outside the Kelowna courthouse, Jenson wouldn't discuss details of the allegations against his client or how she planned to plea.
“I really can’t get into the details of it, there are two counts of threatening and I’m going to have to leave it at that,” he told reporters “I look forward to speaking with you at a later point but today is not that day.”
The B.C. Prosecution Service announced on Tuesday that Janeckova was charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.
Pechet told the Canadian Press that the charges stem from alleged recorded telephone messages left at Clark's and Thomson's constituency offices.
The alleged threats happened on or about April 30, in the midst of the last provincial election.
