170 residents of a retirement home on Gerstmar Road in Kelowna were forced to evacuate the building, Wednesday morning, after someone called in a phone threat.
Just after 11:00, Kelowna RCMP and the fire department, evacuated the building - and Corporal Tania Carroll says during the sudden evacuation one of the residents went into 'medical distress' and had to be treated by members of the BC Ambulance Service.
Carroll says a search of the property didn't turn up anything suspicious, and all residents were able to return to their units after spending around an hour outside. One person-of-interest was arrested, and no charges have been laid at this time.
She says the investigation is on-going.
