Imagine someone calling you at your place of work and screaming and sweating at you.
Would you put up with it? Is it fair?
It's been happening to call centre staff and crews with AIM Roads.
The company looks after snow removal on Okanagan-Shuswap highways, including Highway 97 through Kelowna and West Kelowna.
Contract Manager Greg Ehman says, "It's not just the call centre staff that we're concerned about. The staff are doing their very best in the worst conditions possible. They're trying to plow as much as they can. Physical or threatening abuse of our operators either on the road or employees who are taking calls at the call centre is just not acceptable. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect."
Ehman says we've had a large amount of snow in a short time and when combined with frigid temperatures, crews are doing the best they can.
