Three visitors from out of town were arrested by police Wednesday evening, after a confrontation that quickly escalated to violence in a local parking lot.
On July 15th 2020, just before 11:45 p.m., a group of people were approached by an employee, in the parking lot, of a business situated in the 200-block of Bernard Avenue in Kelowna and asked to leave the property. The verbal confrontation turned violent and a man in the group allegedly struck the 28-year-old female employee several times.
Several personal items were allegedly taken from the woman and the group fled the scene in a black SUV.
Kelowna RCMP immediately launched an investigation into the incident and subsequently arrested three persons a short time later.
The three suspects, a 35-year-old Ontario man, a 26-year-old Ontario woman and a 28-year-old Ontario woman have been released from custody for future court dates in this matter.
The full findings of the police investigation will be submitted to BC Prosecution Services for review and charge assessment.
The stolen items were recovered and returned to the victim, who received medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
