Anyone would feel concerned at the sight of 10 police cars in one place, which is exactly what happened on Thursday evening near Dell Road in the Rutland area of Kelowna.
It turned out that the heavy police presence wasn't due to a drug bust or a hostage situation, but rather a few kids being careless.
Shortly before 5 PM on Thursday, February 1st, a call was made from a woman in the area to the Kelowna RCMP, describing a group of youths driving a car, carrying what looked like pistols.
The RCMP responded in full force and pulled over the suspect vehicle. Four youths were immediately taken into police custody.
Police then discovered that the "suspects" were playing with toy guns that they bought at the dollar store.
Nevertheless, the officers gave the youths a very stern talking to about the severity of their actions and the alarm it caused.
The young people, as well as their families, are reportedly "very embarrassed" by the situation.
