Konquer Motorcycles in Kelowna hosted a Support the Troops event Friday night, where they revealed a custom, military-themed, 2014 Harley Davidson.
They’re raising money for the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (PPLCI) in partnership with the Heroes Hockey Challenge (HHC).
“Not only the bike but also the Heroes Hockey Challenge, the net proceeds, all of them, go to PPCLI Foundation and it's there to help the wounded soldiers, their families and families of fallen soldiers,” said Glenn Cumyn, Founder of the Foundation and Heroes Hockey Challenge.
Konquer Motorcycles General Manager, Rob Thiessen is the man behind the bike.
He said a lot of hard work and passion went into each custom part.
“The theme behind the bike really was just trying to do something nice and tasty that actually represents a military theme bike, pays tribute to Canadian Military and Heroes Hockey Challenge, the whole Support the Troops movement and just kind of have fun with it but at the same time not be overdone,” said Thiessen.
The motorcycle has desert-themed parts including hand-painted camouflage, a custom seat with a bullet belt lining and 50 caliber ammunition boxes as saddle bags.
“The bike's going to be going to all the motorcycle shows across Canada; Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto, and Montreal before it gets auctioned off at the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto at the HHC gala March 6th ,” said Thiessen.
The Heroes Hockey Challenge has raised more than $350,000 for those who have served in the Canadian Military.
