Thunderstorms that rolled through the valley Tuesday evening sparked a number of new fires.
According to the BC Wildfire Service website - crews are dealing with 13 new fires in the Okanagan and Similkameen.
In the Kamloops Fire Centre - which includes Kelowna - a small fire started in the McColloch Mountain area south of Joe Rich - and another off Highway 33 near the Big White turnoff.
Both of these blazes are about 100 square metres in size.
There are also reports of another fire in West Kelowna above Turnbull Road in Glenrosa - it's also a small blaze at this time.
The BC Wildfire Service says fires also sprang up in Peachland, Summerland, Naramata and south of Penticton.
The wildfire service is responding with air tankers, ground crews, and helicopters.
