Two of Kelowna's most well-known parks are ready for spring this week.
Starting Friday, March 16th, the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery will be extending its visiting hours from 7 AM to 8 PM until October 31st.
During this time, only fresh cut flowers and wreaths will be permitted as tributes, while candles will be prohibited due to being a fire hazard.
Any winter offerings will be available for pickup until April 15th, which is when they will be respectfully disposed of.
The second park getting ready for the spring season is the Kasugai Garden Park, which will open Thursday, March 15th.
The Japanese-themed garden had to remain closed longer than usual due to dangerous icy conditions in the park.
It will be open from 9 AM to 8 PM for the summer months until Labour Day weekend.
