A man and woman were taken to hospital after a three-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Joe Rich east of Kelowna.
RCMP say the crash happened at around 1:45, on Highway 33 near Daves Road, when a west bound Jeep crossed the centre line and collided nearly head-on with an east bound Toyota pick-up.
The driver of an east bound Chevy Equinox was unable to stop in time and collided with the pickup, which had spun out of control after the initial impact.
Police say the driver of the Jeep, a 31-year-old Kelowna man, may have fallen asleep behind the wheel and was charged. He was transported to hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The 33-year-old driver of the Toyota, a 33-year-old Kelowna man, and his three passengers were medically assessed by paramedics and released at the scene.
The driver of the Chevy Equinox, a 34-year-old Kelowna woman, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
All three vehicles sustained major damage and were towed from the scene.
