UBC Okanagan will continue to grow as Kelowna itself expands.
City Council saw a glimpse of the university's bright future at the council meeting last night.
By 2040, the campus is expected to nearly double in size.
Vice Chancellor and Principal Deborah Buszard says aligning with the City's infrastructure will provide essential service for the growing student and staff population.
“For public transportation, we would like to see more extensive hours of service, more accessible, more frequent and running later at night,” said Buszard.
In an ideal world, she would like to see some form of rapid transportation that runs between downtown Kelowna and the airport, with a stop at the university.
