Two visually impaired students will be walking across the stage today at UBC Okanagan's convocation ceremony.
Michelle Jorgenson and Kathleen Cusmano will both receive their Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology.
Jorgenson has been blind since birth while Cusmano lost her sight in her 20's.
"The UBCO professors were super encouraging and accommodating with my requests for extra support,” says Jorgensen. “The professors okayed my magnifiers (which helped her read), spent extra time with me and buoyed my spirits.”
Both women will cross the graduation stage with the help of their guide dogs.
