The two mastiff-presa canario dogs, that attacked a smaller dog last weekend in Kelowna, will be humanely euthanized.
Bruce Smith, with the Central Okanagan Regional District, says the owner of the larger dogs has voluntarily surrendered the animals to the district.
The smaller dog, a support animal for a 5-year-old autistic boy, was so severely injured it had to be euthanized.
The attack happened on the Mission Creek Greenway Sunday afternoon.
Smith says Animal Control officers found the larger dogs tied and unattended when they arrived at the scene, but says they had been loose at the time of the attack.
