The Kelowna RCMP now say they have released the four people they detained last night after a report of shots fired in a Kettle Valley neighbourhood.
At around 5:30 pm last night, RCMP members rushed to the scene and were forced to shut down a portion of Chute Lake Road.
Police have determined that a group of individuals were in the area discharging firearms at targets.
Also, two unrelated individuals in the vicinity became fearful for their personal safety and were forced to seek cover when they found themselves down range.
Corporal Jesse O'Donaghey says there is no evidence to suggest criminal activity.
The investigation remains active though.
Anyone with any additional information is asked to come forward and speak with police.
