UPDATE: Police have arrested a man at his residence on Birch St. in Central Kelowna after threatening his neighbour with a shotgun.
The victim’s wife, who chose to remain anonymous, said the two of them have been renting the carriage suite on the residence for five months.
For the last few weeks they had been asking the neighbour’s wife to stop putting their garbage cans in the way of their parking.
She said, “He took it way too far.”
The victim’s boss arrived on scene after reporting the incident to police.
“He banged on the door at 7am and at about 7:50 I was on the phone with my employee. At that time the neighbour was at the house again. They were arguing, it was a heated conversation, and then all I heard was my employee yell ‘Get down here, he just pulled a shotgun on me and he pointed it at my face’,” said the man.
Inspector Paul MacDougall with the Kelowna RCMP says the investigation is in the early stages and no charges have been laid yet.
A significant police presence near Cameron park tied up traffic in South Central Kelowna this morning.
Sometime around 8:00 am, police closed a section of Richter street.
Officers on scene were tight lipped about the nature of the investigation.
A witness nearby says a dispute between two neighbours got heated.
They say police were called in after one of the men brandished a shot gun.
Police haven't confirmed or denied the report.
