UPDATE 9:00 AM:
There was a lot of smoke in the Mission Hill area of West Kelowna this morning.
West Kelowna Fire Chief Jason Brolund says they were called to a house fire on Grouse Road shortly before 6:00 am. He says when crews arrived, the house was fully involved and they took on a defenseive attack.
Brolund says their first concern was whether anyone was trapped inside - turns out, the house was empty.
Investigators are now trying to determine a cause.
UPDATE:
An early morning fire had West Kelowna Fire crews rushing to a neighbourhood on Westbank First Nations land.
AM 1150 News received calls about the fire just after 6:00 am.
It appears both ends of Grouse Road are still blocked by RCMP - but traffic is getting through the area on East Boundary Road.

Thick black smoke could be seen from Highway 97.
The blaze appears to be a home below the Mission Hill Winery.
