A creek that filled to the point of overflowing during last year's spring flooding is getting rebuilt, starting next week.
Channel restoration work is being completed on Upper Vernon Creek, close to Lake Country.
That project will cost $5 million, $4 million of which is going be funded by the province.
Crew will work between now and the end of March to remove the existing damaged concrete flume, install a liner along the channel's bottom, and construct fish-friendly instream structures.
They'll also armour the channel with rock to prevent erosion, and re-establish vegetation.
Traffic impacts are expected to be felt on Jim Bailey Crescent and Bubna Road.
