Tuesday, April 10th Kelowna City Council will consider a proposal to bring a downtown "urban" winery to Kelowna. The winery would be located on Pandosy Street next to the Chapman Parkade and would have room for 77 patrons. 57 seats inside and 20 on a patio.
One sticking point has been hours of business. The ownership has requested a midnight close, which city staff have endorsed, but RCMP recommend 10 PM.
Ricco Bambino Urban Winery pledges to use organic grapes from the South Okanagan, using a combination of stainless steel and cement tanks to craft the wines.
If approved by Council, Ricco Bambino Urban Winery will look to get approval from the BC Liquor Control Board. The public hearing starts at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Kelowna City Hall.
