The COVID-19 pandemic has certainly brought out the best in many people. It's also brought out the worst in some. The Mayor of Peachland and her community know that all too well.
"We woke up this morning to find somebody had defaced our mural again," says Mayor Cindy Fortin. "With COVID graffiti."
A clearly frustrated Mayor Fortin, choosing her words carefully.
"For someone to go out and do that right now, is really not a nice thing to put it mildly," she says. "Right now people need to feel good, they need to try and look for things that make them happy. And when they find out the mural has been defaced again, it's just really unfortunate and somebody is not thinking."
The mural is on Beach Avenue at the south end of the downtown core.
