An RCMP Undercover Operation in Vernon, targeting several local drug trafficking groups, has resulted in charges against 19 people.
The operation spanned the course of several days in November and December.
Undercover Officers purchased various quantities, from street level to half ounces, of cocaine, meth, heroin and fentanyl. Some of the heroin was later found to contain fentanyl, which Vernon RCMP say confirms people using illicit drugs don't know what's in the drugs they're buying.
30 charges of trafficking a controlled substance have been issued, and police say that 7 of the 19 are still wanted with warrants out for their arrest.
