New bright yellow garbage trucks will be hitting the road next month.
The new vehicles being rolled out by Environment 360, the company responsible for garbage collection in the Central Okanagan.
The trucks are also powered by natural gas instead of diesel.
"Much less of a carbon footprint. The days of physically having to fuel up your truck are now gone. The drivers come back at the end of the day. They plug their truck in and they walk away. The truck fills up. They unplug in the morning and they go again."
Environment 360 Manager Mike Rende says 23 new trucks will begin operating on October 1st.
