The West Kelowna Warriors Junior Hockey Club announced Thursday that defenseman Frédéric Deschênes (’05) has been traded to the Cowichan Valley Capitals in exchange for future considerations. Deschênes, 18, is in his first season in the BC Hockey League with the Warriors, scoring a pair of goals and adding three assists for five points in 17 games with West Kelowna. The Sorel-Tracy, Quebec native is a commit to Michigan State University after playing last season with the Des Moines Buccaneers in the United States Hockey League (USHL). The Warriors are back in action on Friday night as they host the Merritt Centennials at Royal LePage Place to conclude a three-game stretch on home ice. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 PM with tickets available for purchase on the Warriors website as well as in person at the Box Office ahead of the game.
