Kelowna set a new temperature record on Thursday.
We hit 37 degrees, beating the old mark of 36 degrees set in 1978.
Environment Canada's Doug Lundquist says relief from this heatwave is on the horizon.
"An upper low pressure system southwest of Vancouver Island off the coast of Washington and Oregon is moving our way. It is giving us showers and thunderstorms for Saturday and Sunday. So this is the last hot day".
Lundquist says the only real concern this weekend is the potential for lightning.
