With the removal of the State of Local Emergency (SOLE) yesterday at 16:00 hours and with no properties within Town Boundaries being included in an evacuation order, the Town of Osoyoos will be “standing down” our Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) in response to the Eagle Bluff wildfire as of 12:00 hours (noon) Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
The Town of Osoyoos, through the Regional District of Okanagan/Similkimen (RDOS), will continue to monitor the Eagle Bluff wildfire through the coming days, and should conditions change where an EOC is required, the Town will re-initiate the EOC.
We remind the community and visitors the area in and around the Eagle Bluff wildfire is still an active work zone, with wildfire crews addressing hot stops, dangerous trees, and other related concerns. Please stay clear of the area and allow wildfire crews to tackle these activities without the potential for unforeseen impacts of unknown people.
