A collision in West Kelowna last night claimed the life of a man.
RCMP were called to the intersection of Highway 97 and Elk Road before 9:30pm after a pickup truck making a left turn onto Elk Road from the highway hit a motorcycle going through the intersection.
The motorcyclist, a 37-year-old West Kelowna man, was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
A portion of the highway was closed for several hours as collision analysts conducted examinations of the scene.
RCMP say factors of the crash are still under investigation but witness accounts suggest the speed the motorcyclist was travelling at may have been a factor.
The pickup truck driver received minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
